What does this balm actually do — and how does it work?
This balm combines three well-established comfort ingredients — camphor, eucalyptus oil, and menthol — with pure lavender essential oil from our Waikato farm. Camphor and menthol create a cooling sensation on the skin that helps ease surface tension and discomfort. Eucalyptus oil supports respiratory comfort when applied to the chest. Lavender adds a calming aromatic layer that eases mental tension alongside the physical. The beeswax and cocoa butter base allows the active ingredients to absorb slowly and evenly through the skin.
How do I use the soothe and relief balm?
Warm a small amount between your fingertips, then apply to the area of discomfort — chest for respiratory comfort, shoulders and neck for tension, temples for headache relief, or feet for circulation. Massage in gently using circular strokes. Avoid contact with eyes, broken skin, or mucous membranes. Not for internal use. The 15g tin fits in a pocket, handbag, or travel kit.
Is this safe to use on children?
Camphor and menthol require extra care with children — camphor should not be used on children under 2, and menthol should not be applied near the face of infants. For children over 2, apply only to the feet or upper back — not near the face or chest. Always consult your healthcare provider if you are unsure. For a gentler children's option, our Lavender Sleep Balm uses only lavender essential oil without camphor or menthol.
Can I use this alongside your other lavender products?
Yes — it works beautifully as part of a broader comfort and relaxation ritual. Apply this balm to your chest, shoulders, or temples for targeted relief, then use our Lavender Massage Oil on tired muscles for deeper relief. For an ambient aromatherapy environment, add a few drops of our Lavender Essential Oil to your diffuser while you rest. All use the same farm-grown lavender so the scents layer naturally.
Where is this balm made?
Made in New Zealand using lavender essential oil grown and steam-distilled on our family farm in Newstead, Waikato. We've been growing Lavandula × intermedia 'Super' on our Waikato property since 2014. Every tin is small-batch made — not factory-manufactured.
