How to Use Our Lavender Rooibos Tea
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Lavender Rooibos Tea made from?
It's made from just two ingredients: South African rooibos and dried culinary English lavender. It's 76g of loose leaf tea, so there are no tea bags.
Is lavender rooibos tea caffeine-free?
Yes, it's naturally caffeine-free, because rooibos is a red bush herb and not a true tea leaf. That makes it an easy cup for the evening. It tastes smooth and naturally sweet, with a soft floral lavender finish.
How do I brew the lavender rooibos tea?
Put 1 teaspoon of loose tea in a 200ml cup or infuser, add freshly boiled water and steep for 3–5 minutes, then pour. Drink it plain or add a splash of milk and a little honey. Keep the jar sealed in a cool, dry place away from light.
Does this tea contain nuts, coconut, beeswax or milk?
No, it contains only rooibos and dried lavender, with no nuts, coconut, beeswax, milk or added flavouring. The full ingredient list is on this page.
Who is this tea suitable for, and is it a good gift?
It suits anyone who wants a smooth cup with a gentle floral flavour. It also makes a lovely gift for a tea lover, paired with a mug or a jar of our lavender jam. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your healthcare provider before drinking herbal teas.
Where does the lavender in this tea come from?
The lavender is grown on our own family farm in Newstead, Waikato, New Zealand. We grow English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia 'Pacific Blue') only for food and tea, then harvest and dry the buds ourselves. The rooibos comes from South Africa.
How long does delivery take, and can I order from overseas?
We send every order by tracked courier within New Zealand: usually 3–5 working days in the North Island and 5–7 in the South Island and rural areas. You can order from anywhere in the world for delivery to a New Zealand address, but we only deliver within New Zealand.
