How to Use Our Rosemary 'Tuscan Blue'
Frequently Asked Questions
What is rosemary 'Tuscan Blue'?
Rosemary 'Tuscan Blue' is an upright rosemary variety (Rosmarinus officinalis) with long, sturdy stems and deep green, needle-like leaves. We sell it semi-dried, so it keeps its shape and green colour.
How do I use dried rosemary for decorating?
Stand the stems in a vase, tuck them into wreaths and dried bouquets, or tie them with dried lavender for a farm-style bunch. Long, upright stems add height and texture to an arrangement.
How long does dried rosemary last?
Kept dry and out of direct sunlight, semi-dried rosemary holds its shape for a long time. The green slowly softens and the scent fades over time. Rub a few leaves to bring it back.
Can I cook with this rosemary?
Yes, our rosemary 'Tuscan Blue' is safe to cook with. Strip the leaves from the stem and add them to roast lamb, potatoes, focaccia or sauces. Rinse the sprigs first and use the leaves, not the woody stem.
Is dried rosemary a good gift?
Yes, a bunch makes a simple housewarming or thank-you gift, especially paired with our dried lavender or eucalyptus for a farm-style bouquet. Cooks love it too, as the leaves are safe to use in the kitchen.
Where is your rosemary grown?
It's grown on our own family farm in Newstead, Waikato, New Zealand, alongside our lavender and eucalyptus. We pick each bunch by hand. Each bunch is cut and tied on the farm.
How long does delivery take, and can I order from overseas?
We send dried flowers and foliage by tracked courier within New Zealand, packed separately from other items to protect them. Delivery usually takes 3–5 working days in the North Island and 5–7 in the South Island and rural areas. You can order from overseas for delivery to a New Zealand address.
