What is lavender essential oil used for?
Lavender essential oil is one of the most versatile essential oils available. Is your lavender essential oil 100% pure?
Yes. Our lavender essential oil is 100% pure Lavandula × intermedia 'Super' essential oil — no carrier oil, no dilution, no synthetic additives, no fillers. It is grown on our family farm in the Waikato, New Zealand, steam-distilled on-site, and bottled without modification. What is in the bottle is exactly what came from our distillation still.
How do I dilute lavender essential oil safely for skin use?
Essential oils should always be diluted before applying to skin. A safe general ratio is 2–3 drops of lavender oil per 10ml of carrier oil (such as sweet almond, jojoba, or fractionated coconut oil). This creates approximately a 1–2% dilution, suitable for most adults for massage, pulse points, and topical use. Do not apply undiluted essential oil directly to skin.
What is the difference between Lavandula × intermedia and Lavandula angustifolia?
Lavandula × intermedia (also called Lavandin) is a hybrid variety known for a stronger, more camphoraceous scent and higher essential oil yield than the true English lavender Lavandula angustifolia. Our 'Super' variety is specifically selected for its high linalool content, which gives it a rich, deeply calming aroma ideal for aromatherapy and relaxation. Both are genuine lavender; the choice depends on the strength and character of scent you prefer.
Can I use this lavender oil in a diffuser?
Yes — diffusing is one of the most effective ways to use this oil. Add 3–5 drops to a water-based ultrasonic diffuser and run for 30–60 minutes. The scent fills the room and the linalool in the oil is inhaled as a fine mist, making it ideal for winding down before sleep, reducing stress during the day, or creating a calm atmosphere for meditation or yoga.

We grow Lavandula × intermedia 'Super', harvest the flower heads at peak bloom, and distil the oil on-site in small seasonal batches. There is no imported oil in our products — every drop comes from our own fields.
