라벤더 건조 꽃 - Lavandula Angustifolia (Pacific Blue)

It's English lavender, Lavandula angustifolia 'Pacific Blue', a variety with short stems and a light, sweet scent. It's the same variety we grow for our lavender teas.

It's a small, hand-tied bunch with stems about 15–25cm long. 'Pacific Blue' has short stems that shrink a little more as they dry, so the bunch is petite rather than full. For a big vase display, our 70-stem Super Lavandin bunch is a better fit.

Stand it in a small vase, tie it onto a gift, or rub the flower heads off to fill sachets and potpourri. Kept dry and out of direct sunlight, it holds its scent for a long time, while the colour slowly softens.

English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) has shorter stems and a light, sweet scent. Super Lavandin (Lavandula × intermedia 'Super') has longer stems and a light, herby scent. We grow both on our farm, for different uses.

Yes, we grow it without sprays on our family farm in Newstead, Waikato. We hand-harvest the stems and air-dry them in bunches, so nothing is added between the field and your home.
