Why This Bedtime Gift Set for Him Is Special
Frequently Asked Questions
What's a relaxing gift for a dad or husband who finds it hard to switch off — is the Calming Sleep Gift Set for Him a good choice?
Yes, it covers the evening and the working day. It includes a lavender sleep spray, a pillow sachet and a lavender soy candle for bedtime, a lavender rosemary focus spray and focus candle for the desk or workshop, plus a eucalyptus, rosemary and lavender sachet, a lavender sachet, a dried eucalyptus bundle and a bookmark.
What makes the Calming Sleep Gift Set for Him different from other lavender gift sets?
Both candles and both sprays in this set are made with lavender oil we steam-distil on our family farm in Newstead, Waikato. The candles are scented only with essential oils, never fragrance oil, the Sleep Spray is non-staining on pillows and sheets, and the eucalyptus, rosemary and lavender sachet is grown entirely on our farm.
What occasions suit this lavender sleep gift set for him?
It suits Father's Day, birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries and retirements.
Does this gift set arrive ready to give?
Yes — it arrives gift-boxed, ready to send straight to the recipient: just enter their address as the shipping address. To include a personal message, add one of our greeting cards to your order and write your message in the Gift message or special instructions box in your cart — we'll handwrite it on the card. Receipts are emailed to you, so no price or invoice goes in the parcel.
How does he use this lavender sleep gift set?
In the evening, light the lavender candle and mist the pillow lightly about 10 minutes before bed so it can dry, then tuck the pillow sachet into the pillowcase. During the day, spray the focus mist around a desk or workshop and light the focus candle. The other sachets suit drawers, wardrobes or the car. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Does this lavender sleep gift set for him contain nuts, coconut, beeswax or milk?
No — none of the items contain nuts, coconut, beeswax or milk. Full ingredient lists are on each product's own page.
Where does the lavender in this gift set come from?
The sleep spray, focus spray and both candles are made with Super Lavandin (Lavandula × intermedia 'Super') essential oil grown and steam-distilled on our family farm in Newstead, Waikato, and the focus spray and focus candle add rosemary and other essential oils. The sachets hold lavender, eucalyptus and rosemary grown on the same farm, and the eucalyptus bundle is grown there too.
How long does delivery take within New Zealand for this gift set?
We send every order by tracked courier, with no signature needed. We aim to deliver within 3–5 working days in the North Island and 5–7 working days in the South Island and rural areas, and orders placed on a weekend or public holiday are sent the next business day.
Can I order this lavender sleep gift set for him from overseas for someone in New Zealand?
Yes. You can order the Calming Sleep Gift Set for Him from anywhere in the world and we'll deliver it to any address in New Zealand — just enter the recipient's NZ address at checkout. We only deliver within New Zealand, so it can't be sent to an address overseas.
Lavender Backyard Garden Gift Sets Compared to Other Brands
| Features | Our Gift Sets | Many Other Gift Sets |
|---|---|---|
| Lavender Source | Grown and steam-distilled on our family farm in Newstead, Waikato, since 2014. | Lavender oil is often bought in from overseas, and its origin isn't always stated. |
| Own Brand | Most items are our own Lavender Backyard Garden® products, made in small batches at the farm with our own lavender essential oil. Keepsakes like bookmarks, pins and magnets are designed at the farm. | Many gift box shops buy in products from other brands and pack them into a box. |
| Lavender Variety | We name the variety: Super Lavandin (Lavandula × intermedia 'Super') for our essential oil and most body care, English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) for our English lavender body oil and lotion, and 'Pacific Blue' for our teas and jams. | The lavender variety is rarely stated. |
| Dried Lavender | Grown spray-free and harvested on our farm for sachets and dried flowers. | May be imported and sometimes treated with sprays or preservatives. |
| Scent | Scented with our own lavender essential oil. Our goat milk, scrub and shaving soaps use an English lavender fragrance. | May use synthetic fragrance oils instead of essential oil. |
