How to Use Alcohol Free Toner
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is lavender hydrosol?
Lavender hydrosol — also called flower water — is the pure water captured during the steam distillation of lavender flowers. When lavender is steam distilled, the essential oil separates and floats to the top; the water underneath retains the water-soluble plant compounds and the true, natural fragrance of the lavender flower. It is not manufactured or formulated — it is a direct, natural byproduct of the distillation process.
How is this different from a conventional face toner?
Most conventional toners are formulated products — water, alcohol, actives, preservatives, and fragrance combined in a lab. This hydrosol is a single-ingredient product that comes directly from distilling lavender flowers on our NZ farm. No formulation, no additives, no synthetic ingredients — just pure lavender flower water as nature produces it.
Is this suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes — pure lavender hydrosol is one of the gentlest botanical toners available. It contains no alcohol, no synthetic fragrance, and no preservatives — naturally, because nothing has been added. If you have very reactive skin, patch test on your inner wrist before using on your face.
Can I use this as a setting spray or midday facial mist?
Yes — the fine mist nozzle delivers an even, lightweight application. Use it as a calming midday refresh, a light setting mist over makeup held at arm's length, or a soothing mist after sun exposure. Close your eyes and mist lightly — no need to rinse.
What is the difference between the 150ml and 30ml sizes?
Same pure hydrosol — different sizes for different needs. The 150ml is your daily skincare staple; the 30ml travel size fits in a carry-on bag and is perfect for refreshing skin during long flights or travel days. Many customers keep one of each.
Where is this made?
Grown, distilled, and bottled on our family lavender farm in Newstead, Waikato, New Zealand. We grow Lavandula x Intermedia (Super), harvest at peak bloom, and steam distil on-site — the hydrosol is captured fresh and bottled small-batch. No importing, no outsourcing.
