Is this a real lavender candle or does it use synthetic fragrance?
It uses real Lavandula × intermedia 'Super' essential oil — steam-distilled from our spray-free farm in the Waikato, New Zealand. There is no synthetic fragrance oil, no fragrance blend, and no paraffin wax. What you smell is genuine botanical lavender aromatherapy released as the natural soy wax melts.
Why is soy wax better than paraffin for a lavender candle?
Soy wax is plant-based and burns cleaner than paraffin — no black soot, no toxic emissions, and no petroleum smell competing with the lavender fragrance. It also burns cooler and slower, which means the essential oil is released more gently and the scent lasts longer throughout the burn. For an aromatherapy candle, soy wax is the only wax that makes sense.
How do I get the best scent throw from this candle?
Trim the wick to 5mm before every burn. On the first use, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the votive before extinguishing — this sets the wax memory and prevents tunnelling on future burns. Light it 20–30 minutes before you want the full scent effect, and burn in a room with the door closed to let the fragrance build.
Can I use this candle with your other lavender products?
