Gourmet Food Tips & Guides
Gourmet Food FAQs
Which lavender do you use in your teas and jam?
Our teas and jam use Lavandula angustifolia 'Pacific Blue', the culinary lavender we grow on our family farm in Newstead, Waikato, just for the kitchen. It's a different variety from the Super Lavandin we steam-distil for our body care and home fragrance.
Which of your lavender teas are caffeine-free?
Our Lavender & Chamomile Herbal Tea and Lavender Rooibos Tea are both caffeine-free herbal blends, so they suit an evening cup. Our two Earl Grey blends, with rose or with cornflower, are made with black tea, so they contain caffeine.
What do your lavender Earl Grey teas taste like?
Our Lavender Rose Earl Grey is an aromatic black tea with rose and lavender, and our Lavender & Cornflower Earl Grey is a floral blend with citrus notes. Both keep the classic Earl Grey flavour, with our culinary lavender on top.
What can I use the Blueberry Jam with a hint of Lavender for?
Spread it on toast, scones or pancakes, spoon it over yoghurt, or use it to fill a sponge cake. It's a blueberry jam with a gentle hint of our culinary Pacific Blue lavender, so the lavender is soft rather than strong.
Do your gift sets include lavender tea?
Yes, several of our gift sets include one of our lavender teas alongside body care and farm souvenirs, and you can add a greeting card with a handwritten message. See our Lavender Gift Sets to find one.
How long does delivery take, and can I order from overseas?
We send every order by tracked courier within New Zealand: usually 3–5 working days in the North Island and 5–7 in the South Island and rural areas. You can order from anywhere in the world for delivery to a New Zealand address, but we only deliver within New Zealand.
