Why This Gift for a New Mum NZ Is Special
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I give a new mum that's just for her, not the baby — is Good Vibes New Mother Gifts a good choice?
Yes, it's a small pamper kit just for her. It's made for the rare quiet moments: a lavender bubble bath, a handmade lavender soap, a soy candle, a pillow mist for bedtime and a dried lavender bouquet. It reminds her to look after herself too.
What makes the Good Vibes New Mother Gifts different from other lavender gift sets?
Every scented item in this new mum gift uses lavender oil we steam-distil from our own spray-free plants in Newstead, Waikato. The soy candle is never scented with fragrance oil, the pillow mist won't stain her sheets, and the dried bouquet is grown and bunched by hand on the same farm.
What occasions suit this lavender new mum gift?
It suits a new baby, a baby shower, a push present, a first Mother's Day, or a visit to a friend in the early weeks with a newborn.
Does this gift arrive ready to give?
Yes — it arrives gift-boxed, ready to send straight to the recipient: just enter their address as the shipping address. To include a personal message, add one of our greeting cards to your order and write your message in the Gift message or special instructions box in your cart — we'll handwrite it on the card. Receipts are emailed to you, so no price or invoice goes in the parcel.
How does a new mum use this lavender new mum gift?
Add a capful of bubble bath under warm running water and light the candle nearby. Wash with the handmade soap, and mist her own pillow lightly before bed, letting it dry first. If she's recently given birth, she may want to check with her midwife before taking a bath, and the candle should never be left burning unattended.
Does this lavender new mum gift contain nuts, coconut, beeswax or milk?
The handmade Lavender Artisan Soap contains sweet almond oil and coconut oil, and the Lavender Bubble Bath contains macadamia oil and coconut oil. None of the items contain beeswax or milk. Full ingredient lists are on each product's own page.
Where does the lavender in this gift come from?
The pillow mist, bubble bath, soap and candle are made with Super Lavandin (Lavandula × intermedia 'Super') essential oil grown and steam-distilled on our family farm in Newstead, Waikato, and the bouquet is harvested from the same fields. We've grown lavender on the farm since 2014.
How long does delivery take within New Zealand for this gift?
We send every order by tracked courier, with no signature needed. We aim to deliver within 3–5 working days in the North Island and 5–7 working days in the South Island and rural areas, and orders placed on a weekend or public holiday are sent the next business day.
Can I order this lavender new mum gift from overseas for someone in New Zealand?
Yes. You can order the Good Vibes New Mother Gifts from anywhere in the world and we'll deliver it to any address in New Zealand — just enter the recipient's NZ address at checkout. We only deliver within New Zealand, so it can't be sent to an address overseas.
Lavender Backyard Garden Gift Sets Compared to Other Brands
| Features | Our Gift Sets | Many Other Gift Sets |
|---|---|---|
| Lavender Source | Grown and steam-distilled on our family farm in Newstead, Waikato, since 2014. | Lavender oil is often bought in from overseas, and its origin isn't always stated. |
| Own Brand | Most items are our own Lavender Backyard Garden® products, made in small batches at the farm with our own lavender essential oil. Keepsakes like bookmarks, pins and magnets are designed at the farm. | Many gift box shops buy in products from other brands and pack them into a box. |
| Lavender Variety | We name the variety: Super Lavandin (Lavandula × intermedia 'Super') for our essential oil and most body care, English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) for our English lavender body oil and lotion, and 'Pacific Blue' for our teas and jams. | The lavender variety is rarely stated. |
| Dried Lavender | Grown spray-free and harvested on our farm for sachets and dried flowers. | May be imported and sometimes treated with sprays or preservatives. |
| Scent | Scented with our own lavender essential oil. Our goat milk, scrub and shaving soaps use an English lavender fragrance. | May use synthetic fragrance oils instead of essential oil. |
| Ingredients | Full ingredient list on every product page, with common allergens named in each gift set's FAQ. | Ingredient details aren't always easy to find. |
| Cruelty-Free | We don't test on animals. | Varies by brand. |
